The Virtual classroom is a succesful system that attracks students to study on the internet. To join a virtual class you need to get its address and go on line to its site on the net. You choose whatever course you want and you can see how your teacher or every student in the course look like. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it?
Well, this system has many adventages. It offers the students more options of learning that are offered in school, because in school they can't learn everything they want, so they have to compromise on another subject. On the other hand, on the net they might find any subject they are interested to learn. In addition, the internet allows the pupils to advance according to their level and pace, without any pressure.
However, the virtual classrom has some disadventages too. The Virtual classroom requires using the internet, which might constitute some difficulties because of the technical problems, that can be very annoying. Moreover, school makes the students to live in a rutine, that might help them in getting in social circles and creating good social friendships.
I think that this new system fits a uniqe kind of students, that preffer to study more easily and calmly. Despite this, I think that belonging to a rutine contributes to form the students' personality. So, for all of those that think that the virtual classroom is the right thing for them, I support it, but I definitely recomend trying to learn in school before making a choice.

A Journey to Poland

Dear Madam,
Each year, 11th graders from our school are given the opportunity to join a group of Israeli students and teachers going on a trip to Poland. This trip is very significant to Israelis and Jews in general and I want to take part in this important journey to concentration camps in Poland. However, I am writing to you because I wish to complain about the high price of the trip.
Because of the high price of this significant trip, many students, including me, can not afford to go on the trip, in spite of its importance. However, I know that the school tries to help by giving some scholarships to some pupils, who are in deep economic trouble, but it does not help them so much because the scholarships' value is low.
Thus, we can see that not a lot of students go on this journey. Joining this journey symbolises to me and many others a lot, and since I was young I wanted to go on this trip. However, it will be an unfulfilled dream of mine because I don't have the requried money.
In conclusion, I am very disappointed with the school's involvement in this issue. I would appriciate this school much more if it gave higher scholarships, but if it is not possible, I would like to hear some other solutions.
Yours truly,
Reut Shiran.
This is better. Good work.

A Summer's Reading
George is a twenty year old drop-out, who dropped out of school four years ago. That is because everything in his surrounding gets easily on his nerves. He got into fights with his teachers and didn't like the way they taught. He seems to be a lonely person, and I feel pitty for him, because it is very difficult to get along with his life alone, especially at his age.
George looks similar to his sister. He is a bony young man that prefers to stay at home in New York. He lives in a poor immigrants' neiborhood. He has a small family, but the communication between them is not doing well. That is because his father and sister work very hard to finance the family, and when they have spare time, they don't talk a lot with George. It seems that everyone in the house lives in a different world, and the connection between them is based on criticism. His mother died, when he was young, and that is another reason for his lonely personality.
George has a hobby, to go on night walks. One time, during his night walk he meets Mr. C. , who is a man that lives in his neighborhood. The two start to talk and George falls into a lie. He tells Mr. C. he plans to read one hundred books during the summer, and he is about to finish, but in fact, George hates books. According to this lie and thanks to Mr. C. that told about George's plans to the neiborhood, all the people become more kind to him and appriciate and supporte him. As a result of their behavior, George runs out to the library and starts to read.
I didn't like George's character at the begining, because he made an impression of a disrespectful person and acted like a child. However, in the end of the story, when he ran out to the library, I started to apriciate him and my opinion about him has changed. I am happy he decided to change his life and I hope he will continue in his changing process.
This is much better.

The Long Goodbye
The book I would like to review is "The Long Goodbye", that was written by Raymond Chandler. This is a detective - crime novel. In it there are some conflicts and situations that had attracted my interest.
In the book there are a few main characters I would like to talk about. One of them is Philip Marlow, a private investigator that got friendly with Terry Lenox, a man that looked like a criminal because of the big scar on the side of his face. After a while Philip was arrested because he was suspected of murder, but he was released with a little help from his friend Terry.
Later, Philip was asked for help by a publisher named Howard Spencer and Eileen Wade. They asked him to find Roger Wade that was missing for days. Philip helped the Wades but soon he got into a complecated murder situations that were connected to the Wades. In the end of the story, he found out who the murderers were and what they reasons were.
To conclude, I recommend this novel to anyone who likes detective and crime novels. They might find the book very interesting because there are descriptions of mysteries and their solutions. In addiotion, I learned from the book, a little bit about investigating and I found it really interesting.

The Disaster Between Our Ears
Some nutritionists believe that people are responsible for the food they eat. They claim the unhealthy food we eat infulences the way we behave and our mental health and causes fatal diseases. A nutritionist named Alice Brown says that eating unhealthy food, like white bread and sweet deserts, can trigger delinquent and criminal behavior. Well, here comes the question, should food manufactorers be held responsible for producing unhealthy food?
I think that the consumer is the only one who is responsible for his health. The consumers know how dangerous unhealthy food is and decide to buy it anyway. They ingore the risks in eating unhealthy food and by that, they damage their health condition themsleves.
Moreover, I don't think the food manufactorers should be held responsible for the food they produce because it is their livelihood. A lot of food manufactorers, all over the world, earn a living from producing it, and if we prevent them from doing it, we will damage their economic condition.
To conclude, in my opinion, people should be more health-conscious. They should delete the fast food from their daily food-menu and replace it with vegetables and vitamin supperlements.

Dear Editor,
Concering the article "Israeli TV star Dudu Topaz found dead in jail", I would like to state my opinion. The article is related to Dudu's career as a television star, and to his unpredictable death. I believe that Dudu didn't have to get suicided and his death is unnecessary.
I want to start with the fact that some people say the media killed him because of the bad publicity. I don't agree with that, and I think Dudu was responsible for himself. I don't believe the solution to the problem was suicide, but placating the punishment. Some people even say he didn't commit the crime, but we can't forget he was an unstable person.
However, I don't think we should remember Dudu as a criminal, because he helped many people he didn’t even know without taking money from them. He gave a lot of opportunities to many unknown artists, who are nowadays extremely popular. Moreover, he reunited families and solved other families' problems.
To conclude, I think Dudu's death could be prevented. He lived for fame, and when he felt it was over, he decided he didn't have a reason to live for. I think Dudu had to reach his punishment and after that get back to his family, instead of killing himself.
Yours truly,
Reut.

The Killing In a LGBT Club
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3755400,00.html
The 2nd of August was supposed to be a regular day, but it turned to be a disaster day. In the evening of that day, the GLBT community planned to meet at the "Bar-Noar" club in Tel-Aviv. Not much after the meeting began, a man dressed in black got into the club and shot many of those innocent people. Unfortunately, the man hasn't been cut yet.
I protest against this act and I think the man has to be punished. It has opened my eyes; It had clarified me that we live in a place that educates to egoism and in a society of people that don't respect each other and cancel other opinions. I concider this act as a killing of the innocent.
This murder reminds me Itzhak Rabin's murder. In those two cases one guy decided to play with other's life and acted from an impulse. Igal Amir and the other murderer both represent a lot of people in the community. I think the solution to all this egoism and thoughlesseness is education. We should educate to tolerance, patience, respect and much better things.
In my opinion, it is fine not to agree with what one is doing and thinking, but we shouldn't act against it, and undoubtley - we shouldn't kill because of it.

The Dudu Topaz Scandal
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32493900/ns/entertainment-celebrities/
Dudu Topaz, one of Israel’s most famous television stars died at the age of 62. Dudu had been in prison for a few months for the crime he committed – he paid criminals for hitting Shira Margalit, who works for Reshet and Avi Nir, Keshet's current CEO. He couldn't stand it and decided to commit suicide. Dudu tried to kill himself several times, but his prison officers saved him at the last moment. After a few days those prison officers found him hanged in the jail cell's shower.

In conclusion, I think Dudu killed himself because he was living for the fame; when he felt that "the show was over" and he had no fame anymore, he didn’t feel he had a reason to live for. He was addicted to fame, and constantly produced noise around him; alive or dead.

Hate Groups
Facebook is a common website in the world. It is used especially by teenagers and it uses as a tool of connecting with other people. However, many people decided to open "hate groups" against other people, groups and more. Most of the groups are results of unfunny jokes.
I criticize this phenomenon and I think it has to be stopped. I think that the initiators of those groups are cruel and evil. A "hate group" hurts deeply the people it directed to. This is a cruel and unwise act. I believe there are other ways, which can be pleasant to express opinions, which should be used.
Moreover, "hate groups" arouses hate to many things. I mean that through the hate groups, the hate in the society increases, with a disrespect and scorn. This is unpleasant behavior. In my opinion, our society shouldn't be like this and therefore we should resolve our problems in a calm and pleasant ways.
To conclude, I think hate groups is a very unnecessary phenomenon all over the world. We should find ways to get along without it and this way our society will be more consider and pleasant

School Uniforms.
School-uniforms are clothes that are worn all the time during school-time in most schools around the world. All the pupils are obligated to wear the same clothes. However, it has always been a disagreement- arousing subject.
On the one hand, school uniforms might make students stop judging other students on what they wear, because they all will be wearing the same clothes. In addition, school uniforms will make everyone equal, for the same reason.
On the other hand, school uniforms immediately abrogate the pupils' freedom of choice because they are being obligated to wear these uniforms. They can't choose their clothes. Moreover, it takes everybody's uniqueness. Everyone is dressed the same, it makes them look almost the same. Also, clothing is a method of expressing opinions. This is another right that is taken from them.
In conclusion, there are many opinions about this subject. My opinion is that school uniforms shouldn't be worn in schools, mostly because it cancels a mainly right of the students - the right of choice and expressing.
Too short and too general.

The McCalls
Burge and Venita McCall were unhappily married. Burge was a short, heavy-set man with a loud voice and Venita was a tall, thin and submissive woman with black hair and big black eyes. She never had much to say. He was known as a lady killer and had been married twice before, but his other wives ran away from him and got divorced. Most of the women in their town were disgusted by him and said Venita married him to get away from the noise of the Santa Fe railroad engines.
Burge hated Venita and didn't like the way she looked at him because it made him nervous.
He was very stingy with his wife and spent his money on himself and was generous with other women. He called her names in order to fight with her, but she never answered him. It made him angry because he got used that his other wives called him names right back.
However, Burge didn't get the attention he wanted when he tried to fight with her. That made him start hating her a few months after they were married. After a while, Burge slapped Venita on the face. Then she called him a "big rat" and promissed he would regret what he had done. One day, Burge heard Venita bought some rat poison. He got nervous and sneaked all over the house, searching for the poison. However, he didn't find any - what made him worry terribly. Burge decided to be a better husband because he was affraid she would kill him. He became nicer and generouse with Venita.
Unfortunately, in the end of the story, Burge died two years after the marriage with Venita got better. Their relationship was sad but we can learn from it that we should choose our partners after knowing them well enough. I think Venita was smart because her plan against Burge succeeded, although, in my opinion, she should have found a better husband.

Homework
Most students have never liked homework. They have always claimed it spends a lot of time and that it's unnecessary. Moreover, there are some kids that believehowmework is slavery and an act of coercion, just as Ben Berrafato, an 11 years old boy does, in his protest against homework.
I don't agree with Ben, and I even think homework is important. It helps the students to understand better the lessons and that's why it is necessary. I think students have to deal with the material by themselves, at home, because they have to practise it and get ready for their exams in order to get high marks.
Well, I think the work at home is effective because everyone can concentrate easier at home than at school and try alone to deal with the material and not have to worry about the time. I believe that as much as the students invest in school and homework, their grades will be higher.
To conclude, I think teachers should give the students homework but to be considerate also, and not make them use all their free time, because after all, we are the ones that benefit from practice homework but we have lots of things to do.

Space Exploration
Space exploration is the use of astronomy and space technology to research outer space. Physical exploration of space is conducted by human spaceflights and by robotic spacecraft. However, the technology that is used for exploring space wastes a lot of money that can be used for other things. - good opening
On the one hand, a lot of money and time that can be used for researches about things like health or technolodgy is spent on space exploration. In addition, it pollutes space. For an example, a few months ago two satellites clashed in space - that accident led to serious pollution in space. I think that this investment should be invested in Earth researches.
On the other hand, space exploration might help saving Earth from natural and unnatural threatening elements from space, (like asteroids or missiles that are launched out of the atmosphere and come back to hit the target. This way, space exploration saves our next generations.
To conclude, I think space exploration is unnecessary at this period. I think we should focus on problems on Earth and after that on less distressing problems.
Not bad at all, Reut, but you need to correct your mistakes and rephrase some of your sentences.(85)

Peer Pressure
"Come on! Try it! It will make you feel better, you will see! Come on, just have a pill...", said Ron to his friend Gal. They were in a party and wanted to feel the happiest in the world. Ron thought the pills would help them forget about their problems and tried to convince Gal to take a pill. Unfortunatly, Gal gave in to peer pressure.
Peer pressure is bad. It makes you do things and not think about the bad results it might have. Some teenagers are influenced by their friends and do things that they don't really want to do. I think this influence is bad and it makes teenagers think unreasonably. Also, the bad influences peer pressure causes cannot be repaired.
However, sometimes peer pressure makes teenagers do things they had never dared but always wanted to do like free falling or rappelling. Their friends exploit it and push them to do those things. In addition, it can help them have lots of friends because the teenagers will think they are "cool" and wonderful. In cases like those, I think peer pressure is good and even effective.
To conclude, I think peer pressure has advantages and disadvantage, and we should think a lot about the results of our actions before we do anything.
This is better, but you still need to clarify some of your statements and rephrase some of your sentences.(90)

A suggestion to Janet
Hi Janet,.........................................................................................................22/1/09
.
I heard about your dilemma and I would like to relate to it. Your dilemma is that your friends are frequently copying from you during the tests. I think your problem is a little complicated, but there is a solution. I would like to try to help you by giving you my advice.
I suggest you try to talk to your friends and explain to them how this situation makes you feel. You should explain to them that it makes you nervous and uncomfortable. You can also ask them to stop taking advantage of you and stop being lazy.
I think their reaction won't be selfish and arrogant. They will understand you and be aware of the bad feelings they have caused you. If they will be angry, I think you should stop talking to them and find other friends that will make you feel better.
Well, I hope my suggestion will help you to solve your problem and your friends will understand you. However, don't compromise!
Good luck,
Reut.
Excellent work. (97)

The Israeli war against Hamas
I live in Holon, which is a city in central Israel. I think that the war against Hamas is very important and unavoidable. The life of the people in southern Israel is very terrifying. They spend most of the day in shelters, in order to to take cover from the missiles that are launched on the area. This reality had started 8 years ago. Our government had tried to acheive peace treaties but the Hamas refused.
I support the Israel Defense Forces that are attacking the Hamas and protect our lives.
